Info & FAQ’s
Do you have a price list?
Every cake i make is baked and decorated to order. Whilst a price can be quoted for each cake on my website, you may need it larger or smaller than the one in the picture, or a different flavour, you may want to make some slight changes to the design or you may love the design but have a limited budget. I find it best to establish exactly what cake you would like and make sure you are quoted the right price for your perfect design. To get a price on a cake you can contact me via fb, email, a text/whats app or give me a call.
Do you deliver cakes?
I am happy to quote you a delivery price if you’re local to Saltash, Liskeard, Looe, Plymouth and surrounding areas and usually deliveries to St Austell areas are made on a Saturday. All cakes are delivered to you in person unless you wish to collect. I do have a small selection of cakes that can be posted but if there is anything you would like to enquire about then please ask. I recommend that Wedding Cakes are always delivered and set up by ourselves to ensure it arrives and looks perfect on your special day. You can collect wedding cakes yourselves if you really want to but once it leaves us we are not responsible for any damages.
What flavours do you do?
The most popular flavour inside my cakes is a vanilla sponge with seedless raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream. There are loads of different flavours including chocolate, lemon, coconut, coffee and walnut, peanut butter, caramel . . . . . .etc plus many more. If you have a flavour in mind then please ask.
I can do any flavour combination you can think of, alcohol included.
Do you do Gluten Free Cakes?
Yes. I can also do eggless, nut free and dairy free/vegan cakes. A diabetic option is also available.
But please note that all cakes are made in an environment that does handle nuts, gluten and dairy but extra care is taken when making these free from options for you.
Help ! I haven’t a clue what style or size of cake to go for.
Don’t worry. Just give me a call – I’m very friendly. We can have a chat about who the cake is for, what they like, any interests, hobbies, that sort of thing. Cakes can be made for any small amount of people as a single tier and for many more people as a larger tiered cake so no matter how intimate or grand your occasion, we can make the perfect sized and designed cake for you.
How far in advance do we need to book ?!
Ideally, as soon as you know exactly what you want then book your cake. However, customers tend to book 3 weeks before their required date with no problem. Larger cakes and cakes with a lot of fondant work i would advise to just book as soon as possible. Wedding cakes would usually be booked at least 4 months before the big day.
I’ve been let down, can you help me?
One of the worst things I can hear is that you’ve been left disappointed by another cake maker. I have often helped with last minute cake requirements and try really hard to make sure someone doesn’t miss out on a cake, sometimes it’s impossible but it’s always worth calling me, you never know.
How do I order a cake?
You can call me on 07956 529735. If I’m out for a delivery or am making a cake please leave me a message so I can call you back. You can also send me a message on my fb page www.facebook.com/thedreambakermarie or an email to thedreambaker@yahoo.com. Once we have discussed and confirmed your cake design either a deposit by BACS/Paypal/Pingit can be paid or you can pay in full. Remaining balances can be paid in cash on collection/delivery. Wedding cake balances need to be paid in full 4 weeks prior to your wedding day.
Where are you based?
I am based at home in Saltash, Cornwall.
How long will my cake last?
Sponge cakes are freshly baked to order, never frozen and with no added preservatives, please enjoy your cake at its best within 6 days of collection. If your cake contains fresh cream always keep refrigerated and consume within 2 to 3 days.
